Eric Dane, best known for his role on Grey's Anatomy, has been cast opposite Owen Wilson, Jennifer Aniston, and Alan Arkin in Marley & Me, a comedy based on the memoirs of John Grogan. According to Variety, "Wilson plays the ambitious reporter who moves with his wife (Aniston) to Miami for a newspaper job. Dane will play the journo's best friend, who suggests that the reporter adopt a puppy as a substitute for the children his wife wants to have. Marley morphs from an adorable Lab puppy into an incorrigible handful." An entire feature film devoted to a difficult puppy? Hard-hitting cinema. David Franklin is directing and the script is by Scott Frank.
Dane also played Multiple Man in X-Men: The Last Stand.
