News > Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson to Play The Tooth Fairy

Written by David Morgan

Former WWE superstar Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will continue his trend of comedic roles in family films by playing the title character in The Tooth Fairy. According to Variety, "Johnson will play an ordinary man who's brought in to try to save the tooth fairy kingdom."

Worried that this may not sound like a good project for the star of The Game Plan? Fear not! It's being directed by Michael Lembeck, the man behind the camera on The Santa Clause 2, Connie and Carla, and The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause. He's kind of an expert on the cinematic adaptations of lies from our childhood (one of them being that Nia Vardalos is unflappably talented).

Tooth Fairy was scripted by Lowell Ganz & Babaloo Mandel and Joshua Sternin & Jeffrey Ventimilia. 20th Century Fox is aiming for an August start date.

"[...]one of them being that Nia Vardalos is unflappably talented."

un·flap·pa·ble (n-flp-bl)
adj.
Persistently calm; not easily upset or excited.

Your English is like The Rock's acting. :P

It's not incorrect. She seemed to have a bright career in 2002, and it was "easily upset" by one bad film that came out only two years after her success. "Talented" is arguably the wrong adjective for that sentence, but I'll stand behind "unflappable."
