Indie dream girl Zooey Deschanel will star alongside off-beat actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt in "500 Days of Summer," a romantic comedy directed by first-timer Marc Webb. According to Variety, the film "centers on a man (Gordon-Levitt) who falls hopelessly in love with a woman (Deschanel) who doesn't believe in love." Clark Gregg, Minka Kelly, Matthew Gray Gubler, and Rachel Boston fill out the cast.

The only other credit to the writers' names (Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber) is "Pink Panther 2," and before that Weber was Robert De Niro's assistant during production of "The Good Shepherd." So at this point the writers and director are all big question marks, but the lead cast gives this film a lot of promise.
