Stephen Sommers's production of G.I. Joe has recently cast Dennis Quaid as General Hawk, "the grizzled team leader" of the titular unit. He joins the recently cast Channing Tatum (playing Duke Hauser), Marlon Wayans, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Rachel Nichols, Sienna Miller, Ray Park, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, and Said Taghmaoui.

Stuart Beattie wrote the screenplay, and the film is scheduled to be released on August 7th, 2009.
