Wizard caught up with David S. Goyer, director of Blade: Trinity and most recently The Invisible, about the long rumored X-Men spin-off Magneto and taking on H.G. Wells' The Invisible Man.
"We're scouting and budgeting now," Goyer told Wizard. The prequel looks into the origins of the X-Men, Magneto and Xavier. Despite admitting that they've scouted around Europe and Argentina, the only other thing worth noting is Goyer's question of "whether we can bring it in for a price."
The Invisible Man will be his next writer-director role before Magneto it seems. Rather than butchering the original, Goyer's plan is for a continuation. "I just then randomly had this idea for what would sort of be a direct sequel," he said, "which literally starts like a month after the original [story] in Victorian England…I went in and I pitched this whole thing to Universal and to [producer] Brian Grazer and they loved it. So we were off and running."
