The marketing for this film was all wrong. It was marketed as another hilarious comedy by that zany Steve Carell, when in fact it was top 10 saddest movies of all time. It was like Meet the Parent, but without the comedy and just the heartbreak of watching a pretty decent guy try to win over the love of his life and his family at the same time. However, once you get past the tissues and tears, there is a really great film underneath with some great acting by Steve Carell and even an AWESOME guest appearance by Broadway’s Norbert Leo Butz! The highlight of the film is an awesomely awkward shower scene between Carell and leading lady Juliette Binoche, I’ll leave out the rest of the details and just let you enjoy. The film is decent over all. Not gunna win any awards but definitely good for a rainy day, or a movie with your mom.
