Matt Damon has announced that The Bourne Ultimatum will mark the end of his run with the Jason Bourne franchise.  At Cannes yesterday the actor was quoted as saying, “The Bourne thing I'm definitely done with,” but suggested that there is always the possibility of another actor stepping in.  I guess he’s focusing all his energies on trying to get the job as “Young Kirk” in the Trek prequel film, Star Trek 11, which will indeed take a lot of his energy as he is older now than William Shatner was on the original show.

So start getting psyched for Ben Affleck in The Bourne Superfluum (2009)! Maybe Paul W.S. Anderson is interested…
