My favorite weirdo (Sorry, Gonzo) Crispin Glover is set to star in a film about the Donner Party. FilmSchoolRejects reports that the project titled The Forlorn is in development with NHO Entertainment producing.
Co-starring Law & Order's Jeremy Sisto, The Forlorn will depict "the tragedy of the Donner Party, a wagon train forced by the worst blizzard in recorded history to survive the winter in Sierra Nevada Mountains in 1846."
For those unfamiliar with popular historical references, the Donner Party resorts to cannibalism to survive. Four search parties were sent to find them and took the survivors in groups. By the time the fourth group arrived, there was only one man left alive. My hope is for that man to be played by Crispin Glover and that we will see him found with the craziest possible gleam in his eyes while gnawing on a femur bone.
