Wes Craven is assembling a cast of relative unknowns for his next horror film, tentatively titled "25/8," in order to "avoid giving viewers any preconceptions of who will die onscreen" (The Hollywood Reporter). So far he has recruited Henry Lee Hopper, Denzel Whitaker, Shareeka Epps, and Emily Meade to play four of the "seven teens haunted by a serial killer who supposedly died when they were born 15 years earlier. The film takes place over the course of a day as the mystery of who (or what) is stalking the small-town high schoolers unfolds."
Henry Lee Hopper will play the lead role of Bug. The first-time actor is the 17-year-old son of Dennis Hopper, and if you want to know all about the kid's surprisingly mild upbringing, check out the aforelinked THR article (his stepfather is French Stewart!). Denzel Whitaker (no relation to Forest) was last seen in "The Great Debaters" and Shareeka Epps (no known relation to Mike or Omar) is best known for her star-making turn in Ryan Fleck's "Half Nelson." Emily Meade will appear in the upcoming "Assassination of a High School President."
