Rapper Common will play a human freedom fighter in John Connor's inner circle in "Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins," the fourth film in the popular sci-fi series. Christian Bale will play the hero John Connor, while the supporting cast includes Sam Worthington, Anton Yelchin, and Moon Bloodgood. Josh Brolin is also rumored to appear, playing a humanoid terminator. McG is directing from a script by John D. Brancato & Michael Ferris and Paul Haggis.
I like Common. I don't think he's a good actor yet, but he's got a certain screen presence, and I look forward to seeing him develop his chops.
The most recent word on this production, before Common's casting, was that the producers are aiming for a PG-13 rating, surely to the chagrin of many fans of the series. Filming began earlier today.
