News > Columbia likes Gardner's Pitch
Written by David Morgan
Pierce Gardner, writer of the forthcoming Steve Carell/Dane Cook comedy Dan in Real Life, has successfully pitched an untitled comedy to Columbia, which Neal Moritz will produce. "The comedy centers on a divorced mother who is lost at her new job until she realizes that her experience dealing with spoiled toddlers gives her exactly the tools she needs to deal with spoiled executives." Sounds a bit like a one-bad-joke premise, but could very well be funny in the hands of a decent comedic actress. Tina Fey perhaps? Although that's basically the role she already plays on 30 Rock.
Gardner has also been hired to adapt Ben Ryder Howe's book My Korean Deli.
