Cheech Marin, who's credited along with Tommy Chong for writing "Desperado" and "Tin Cup", wrote the screenplay for "Angel of Oxnard."
Variety synopsis: Story centers on Angel Mejias (Marin), the voice of Oxnard's version of the Home Shopping Network, who finds himself in the middle of a worldwide media storm when his face appears on a tortilla.
After working on "The Perfect Game" with HighRoad Entertainment, they decided to pick up his script for "Angel of Oxnard" and Cheech will be directing for the first time in over 15 years. He'll also be staring in the film.
Marin has recently been on tour with Tommy Chong, he also has a role on the TV series "Lost" and appeared on "Grey's Anatomy." He'll be in theaters on October 3 in "Beverly Hills Chihuahua."
