Official word came out today that the role of Duke, in the upcoming G.I. Joe film, will be played by Channing Tatum. Duke is portrayed as a field commander in the G.I. Joe franchise, second in command to Hawk. Although Duke isn’t the head honcho, he is viewed as the main character of the G.I. Joe franchise. Tatum will join the likes of Sienna Miller (The Baroness), Marlon Wayans (Ripcord), Rachel Nichols (Scarlett), and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Still in talks.). The live-action film is set for a 2009 release, filming begins this February.
