Telegraph.co.uk is reporting that Cate Blanchett is likely to play the role of Maid Marian in Sir Ridley Scott's next film, Nottingham. Apparently, Sienna Miller was deemed too slim and youthful for the part.

Mark Strong, who will play Sir Guy of Gisbourne, agrees with the choice and had this to say:

"I think Cate Blanchett is set to take the Maid Marian part. She is a wonderful actress and it would make it a much classier film if she was in it."

Poor Sienna Miller can't get any respect. Maybe it's because she never wears pants.
