Though destined to be somewhat outshined by her fellow Italian-American costars Al Pacino and Robert De Niro, Carla Gugino has signed on to play the female lead in Jon Avnet's Righteous Kill. Hollywood Reporter reports that her character is a crime scene investigator with a "dark personal life" who gets into a relationship with De Niro's character. 

She's on fire these days. She's going to be in Ridley Scott's American Gangster, Zack Snyder's Watchmen, and now this. The more Gugino the better.
