Bryce Dallas Howard may replace Charlotte Gainsbourg as Kate Connor, wife of John Connor, in "Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins." According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gainsbourg had to pull out of McG's sci-fi thriller due to a scheduling conflict with a French comedy that she had agreed to do. I can't imagine that the French film could pay her as well as a Terminator film would, so perhaps she had some issues with the screenplay or with how the production is being handled, whether by the producers or by McG. 

Whatever the case, these potential issues don't present a problem for Ms. Howard, who was last seen on the big screen as Gwen Stacy in the oft-reviled "Spider-man 3." Some of Gainsbourg's most recent credits include "I'm Not There" and "The Science of Sleep."

The character was first played by Claire Danes in "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines." Christian Bale will play the mature John Connor, who was previously depicted by Edward Furlong and Nick Stahl in "T2" and "T3" respectively.
