News > Bruce Campbell bows out of Bubba Nosferatu

Written by: Josh Karp

It seemed like things were headed in this direction following the recent revelation that Bruce Campbell was having second thoughts about Paul Giamatti's involvement in the Bubba Ho-Tep sequel, but we;ve got official confirmation now, by way of Slash Film. Apparently Bruce Campbell will not be joining forces with Giamatti, Director Don Coscarelli, and Co. to make the prequel to one of the greatest low-budget films of all time. So sad. Personal issue, right? Check out Campbell's statem

“BUBBA NOSFERATU is dead to me,” Campbell said flatly. “It sleeps with the fishes. Don Coscarelli is a very passionate filmmaker. We got to a few points [developing the screenplay] that we couldn’t reconcile. I want to keep our friendship, so we parted ways. So I’m not part of that project.”

There ya have it. So sad.

For as much fanboy love and respect I have for Bruce, I've always felt like he had a big head about being a popular B-movie actor. But, he has his own reasons for not doing it, so I'd rather not see him in a movie he doesn't give a shit about.

Fuck it, he's Bruce. Sad as it is that he won't bow to the might of the Phather of Phantasm I can't hate him. Then again Coscarelli did make Beastmaster...Still Phantasm and Bubba Ho-Tep...damn you Bruce!!

How DARE you! Mock the Beastmaster do you? Any movie with ferret heroes named Kodo and Podo is worth my time.

Dude, Bruce Campbell is too busy playing a retired spy in the Burn Notice series. He gets to sit around with no shirt drinking beer and getting chicks. sounds like a tough acting stint to me.

cheers
