Former child star Brad Renfro was found dead this morning in his Los Angeles apartment at age 25. So far, no foul play is suspected. The actor had a long history of drug and alcohol abuse, but the official cause of death has yet to be stated.
At age 10 the Tennessee-born actor caught his big break and was cast opposite Susan Sarandon in The Client. He went on to star and co-star in such films as The Cure, Tom and Huck, Sleepers, Apt Pupil, and Ghost World. He had been filming the Bret Easton Ellis adaptation The Informers, but it is unclear how much of his part had been filmed.
Renfro's run-ins with the law were numerous, including most famously an incident in December of 2005, when the LAPD busted him for attempting to purchase heroin in LA's Skid Row.
