News > Brad Pitt Goes to "Lost City of Z"

Paramount Pictures has bought the manuscript to David Grann's nonfiction book "Lost City of Z" and is hoping to attach Brad Pitt as a star and producer under his Plan B production company. According to Variety:

Grann's forthcoming nonfiction book concerns British explorer Col. Percy Harrison Fawcett, who was attempting to find the so-called City of Z when he and his party disappeared in 1925. Over the next 70 years, scores of explorers tried and failed to retrace Fawcett's path, including a 1996 expedition of Brazilian adventurers.

Pitt has expressed interest in playing the missing colonel, which is what prompted Paramount to act. The book is an expansion on an article that Grann wrote for "The New Yorker" back in September 2005. Paramount has also optioned another article by Grann called "City of Water."
