News > Ben Foster in for Messenger

Written by David Morgan

Just as I finished writing another article about a new Oren Moverman project, I hear about another. This one is called The Messenger, which will mark Moverman's directorial debut. Written by Moverman and Alessandro Camon, the plot concerns "a young Army officer who is forced to work with a partner he can't stand in the least desirable job in the military. His life becomes even more complicated when he falls in love with a soldier's widow."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the up-and-coming Ben Foster has been cast as that young officer. You may have seen Foster's memorable performances in 3:10 to Yuma, 30 Days of Night, Hostage, and much more.

Mark Gordon (10,000 B.C.) and Lawrence Inglee will produce for the Mark Gordon Co. along with Zach Miller and Ben Goldhirsh of Reason Pictures (Son of Rambow). Production begins in April.
