File this one under the "no duh" department: Anthony Hopkins will play King Lear in a big screen adaptation of the Shakespeare tragedy. The big screen adaptation will be directed by Joshua Michael Stern and will co-star Gwyneth Paltrow, Naomi Watts and Keira Knightley, each one playing one of Lear's daughters.
This sounds like the perfect cast and should please the Shakespeare fanboys (all four of them). No way it's better than the Akira Kurosawa adaptation "Ran," though. Sorry, Tony Hopkins. Not happening.
