We reported some time ago about a potential remake of Fritz Lang's silent sci-fi classic Metropolis. Now, Michael Douglas, Amber Tamblyn, and Jesse Metcalfe are lined up to star in a remake of Lang's less often seen 1956 film noir Beyond a Reasonable Doubt. The new film will be set in the present-day 21st century, and follows a journalist intent on outing the corruption of the district attorney by setting himself up for a crime he didn't commit. Things get ugly when the DA finds out the reporter's motivations and presses even harder to convict his adversary.
Peter Hyams (Timecop, End of Days) wrote the screenplay and will direct. Ted Hartley, Moshe Diamant and Foresight’s Mark Damon will produce. Shooting is scheduled to begin on March 3rd.
