James Kyson Lee (better known to everyone as Ando from Heroes) admitted at a recent panel that he had auditioned for the role of Yamcha in the upcoming Dragon Ball live-action film. While Lee says he approves of the script, this sort of confirms the notion that the live-action will take more from the original manga than the super-powered Z off-shoot.
And we can sort of agree with that, since a 90 minute CGI energy beam battle isn't as exciting as one thinks. Seriously, remember how many episodes you had to sit through just to see someone charge up their power level, say the attack name and then fire it? Although we're hoping for some Demon King Piccolo action, chances are Fox will merge certain parts from both series and throw the slapdash creation back at fans.
But maybe this is just our sick casting choice…how about Masi Oka as the voice of Puar? C'mon. Turn about is fair play,Oka.
