News > Adam Sandler and Mitch Albom ... Together At Last?

If you don't know who Mitch Albom is you obviously haven't waited in line at a grocery store in the last, er, five years.  You can usually find his signature brand of inspirational pap smear, sandwiched between the Orbitz gum and whatever magazine is blasting new pics of a shirtless Matthew McConaughey.  His 'Conversations With Morrie' and '5 People You'll Meet in Heaven' really struck a nerve with women and men with a taste for literally drowning in a sea of sentimentality and blew up into multi-multi-multi million dollar properties.  And seemingly one of those fans is Billy Madison himself, Adam Sandler.

Sources say, Sandler is all hot and bothered over a script Albiom wrote about baseball … … and emotions.  Throw in some scenes where Sandler pretends to hump things with a night stick and it sounds like they've got a match made in heaven.

Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison are classic, classic comedies, and Punch Drunk Love is a top ten film, but the upcoming schedule of Sandler films is iffy to say the least.  Doesn't really seem as if Sandler's radar for hot scripts is fully tuned right now, and the selection of a Mitch Albom script, has me worried that he's indulging the saccharine emotional urge that has been hurting a lot of his recent output.  Though, with his seeming indestructable Hollywood persona, the man can do whatever the hell he wants and make a million dollars doing it.
