News > Absurd Premise of the Week "Hot Tub Time Machine"

I know it's only Monday, but barring any Michel Gondry-related announcements, I think we've got our "Absurd Premise of the Week" right here. Screenwriter Josh Heald has successfully pitched a film to MGM titled "Hot Tub Time Machine." According to The Hollywood Reporter, "'Hot Tub' follows a group of guys, adults who used to be cads back in their heyday, who, after a night of vodka and Red Bulls in a hot tub, travel back in time and set out to rediscover their 'mojo.'"

Why make this you might ask? Cale Boyter of MGM has the best justification I've heard all week (again, only Monday). Said Boyter, "We're always looking for ways to stand out from the rest of the pack in today's crowded marketplace, and what better way than to combine hot tub debauchery and the complications of time travel." Well, I can see how old Cale got his job.

Matt Moore will produce. No director or cast have been attached yet. Moore and Boyter are both alums of the recently disassembled New Line Cinema.
