News > Watchmen Casting News!

It is a big day over at
Aint-It-Cool as this morning they broke the rumor that Jim Broadbent was cast in
Indy 4 and now they've gotten word on some seriously, juicy casting rumors on the most anticipated movie I've covered in a long time,
Watchmen. There's so much of it I'm just going to bust it down into some easily read bullet points. Right, now:
- Keanu Reeves is out as Dr. Manhattan. Folks originally thought it was because he just didn't want to participate in the project. Sources now are claiming that Reeves thought the studio was lowballing his salary, so he didn't take part. Poor move Keanu, this movie is going to be huge, and your going to be nursing your sore special spots from the sideline.
- The newest casting rumors for the big blue Dr. Manhattan are pointing at either Billy Crudup, an actor Zach Snyder had mentioned earlier, or Jason Patric. Neither of these actors do much for me, but it's only because they've made such dramatic impact on me in other roles, I find it difficult to picture them as a blue atomic being. Either actor would bring a level of credibility to the role, that Snyder is seemingly aiming at though.
- The Comedian, a psychopathic war-monger, is still floating around with out an actor, and rumors have moved from geek god Ron Pearlman, to other geek good Nathan Fillion. Moriarty has seemingly heard that the superhero is an actor that lends 'comic book credibility' to the part. He also refers to the actor as 'punishing' so it looks like Thomas Jane has thrown his hat in to the ring also.
All of this on top of the Jackie Earle Haley rumor from last night. Tits Mcgee, this movie is going to be a grandslam.
