Andy Samberg certainly deserves to blow up.  He's one of the few genuinely funny remaining SNL members, and his digital shorts have made the struggling skit-show relevant for a new generation of fans.  Hollywood isn't slumping on the recognition tip, as Samberg has just been cast as the lead monkey in the new CGI animated film Space Chimps.  Samberg will play a monkey named Ham III, the great-grandson of the first chimp in space, who's enlisted by a senator (Stanley Tucci) to fly in to a black hole and save the world from alien invaders.  Also added in the mix are Jeff Daniels as the alien leader and Patrick Warburton as one of Ham III's monkey compadres.  

It certainly isn't the worst CGI idea circulating around, and it certainly has to be better than Shrek the Third.  Please, please be better than Shrek the Third.
