National Treasure: Book of Secrets stayed on top of the Box Office this weekend, though one could honestly say that it's not like any other movies were trying. The only new wide release on Friday was gimmicky horror flick One Missed Call, which ended up in fifth place, $13.5 million, and a whopping 00% fresh on Rottentomatoes. What better way to start the new year?
Juno actually leaped ahead to the number three spot this weekend, making $16.2 million, and surpassing probably everybody's expectations for this little indie pregnancy comedy. Variety even said it was "becoming one of the hottest buns in the theatrical oven," a metaphor I'm hoping they will never use again. Variety also mentioned that once all of the final numbers are in, Juno may actually take second place away from I Am Legend, which is estimated at $16.4 million.
