Jackass 2.5, the hourlong feature comprised of unused footage from Jackass 2 mixed with new material, will debut December 19th exclusively on the internet, hosted by Blockbuster. According to Variety, it will (at least for the first two weeks) stream for free with ads. It will be the first major studio film to debut online.
As part of the deal, Blockbuster will have exclusive rental rights to the DVD and to online digital rentals Here's the new Jackass website, which is, in their words, not yet fully erect.
So unfortunately for Jackass fans, the theatrical experience won't be an option this time around. But it's only half a Jackass, what can you expect?
Hmm, something occurred to me. Why didn't they just call it Halfass?
