News > Doctor Who writer takes on Tintin

Written byJohn Lichman

Steven Moffat has been attached to pen all three films that will comprise The Adventures of Tintin trilogy, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Moffat's credits include the new Doctor Who series and BBC mini-series Jekylli.

The films will be a co-production between Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg, who will each direct a part of the trilogy. Tintin will be made using motion-capture technology and 3D imaging, such as in Beowulf. There is currently no third director attached.

This seems really ambitious. Do many people even know what or who Tintin is? Is there a fanbase and audience for this? Is there enough interest out there to justify committing to a complete trilogy of this 50's cartoon character news reporter? Maybe there is.
