Ah, what a glorious morning! It seems like my weekend at the anime convention was for naught, as Chi-Chi has been cast in James Wong's Dragonball (not Dragon Ball Z, as far as the IMDB page goes.) IESB has word that Goku's love interest will be played by Jamie Chung, a former reality star (Real World: San Diego). Chi-Chi is the Ox King's daughter, whom Goku first meets when he's a child and promises to marry her when he's older without realizing it. Of course, they do, spawn those blonde haired green eyed kids and then spend 20 episodes charging their respective lasers.
While we're on the subject, IESB also got a tip that filming would begin on January 7th, 2008 in Durango, Mexico. Four major sets, according to the source, have been built up and general shooting will occur throughout. But really, the Ox King lived on a mountain surrounded by constant fire. And Chi-Chi…ah, nevermind. She is however the first Asian cast member, which is a step forward for the Fox production. But she's Korean-American.
Which is good news: James Kyson Lee still has a chance!
