News > Bruno's next for Sacha Baron Cohen

Written by John Lichman

Media Rights Capital must be hoping for another Borat and not Ali G In Da House. Variety reports that Baron Cohen's next feature will be Bruno, which would follow the third sketch character from his sketch/variety show Ali G. Completing the trifecta, Bruno follows an extremely flamboyant German fashion reporter–who, if you can't tell, is gay and will stretch that single joke out for ten minutes at a time.

Afterwards, Baron Cohen wants to star in Dinner for Shmucks, a remake of the French film Le Diner de Cons for Dreamworks. Jay Roach is attached to direct. According to Variety, the "French film focused on a weekly dinner party held by a Paris publisher who challenges his friends to bring the most pathetic guest to the gathering. Cohen will play a character blessed with such extraordinary schmuckiness that he can destroy the personal life of anyone with whom he comes in contact."

Kind of old news, since they were already filming segments for the Bruno film months ago.
