The long-gestating "Green Lantern" feature film may be slow to come together, but at least they're moving back in the right direction. Producer Donald De Line confirmed for CHUD that Jack Black is no longer attached to star and that the idea of doing a "comedic" GL film has been more or less dropped. He says that the film will follow the heroic origin story of Hal Jordan, the man who would become the Silver Age Green Lantern.
Greg Berlanti (creator of "Eli Stone") is writing the first draft of the script now. Also, according to De Line, "Green Lantern" has not been affected in any way by the creation or the lack of a "Justice League" movie. For one thing, "JLA" is likely to feature the John Stewart Green Lantern, as opposed to the Hal Jordan incarnation.
